Save the Dates: Two Slideshows, Monday, December 3, 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, January 12, 2 p.m.

December 3: At Red Hill Books on Cortland, we'll present a series of photos on "The Top of the Hill" and will talk about the fight to stop development.

January 12: The second event will be at the new Glen Park Library. With Emma Smith, the author of the Glen Park Arcadia book, we'll have a slide show and presentation featuring common features of our adjacent neighborhoods, including Islais Creek and the Bernal Cut.

An announcement on behalf of the Friends of the SFPL: The Bernal Heights Library 2008 Historical Calendar is now available. It was compiled by BHP member Valerie Reichert, and features some photos used in our Arcadia book, along with other previously unseen pictures of Bernal. Buy the calendar for $10 from Good Life Grocery, Heartfelt, Red Hill Books, Book Bay Main, Book Bay Fort Mason, and online from www.friendssfpl.org/online_bookstore.cfm
