Questions Answered Ferociously, Felicitously, and Finally

Here is where we dispel the myths and substantiate the legends. Is there a Bernal story that you wonder about? Or are you privy to information that can legitimize a story? Email us about it.

Was Patty Hearst caught in Bernal Heights?
Fugutive heiress Patty Hearst was captured by FBI agents on 18 September 1975 in a house on Morse Street in the Crocker-Amazon district. There is very little evidence that she ever set foot in Bernal Heights. However, fellow Symbionese Liberation Army members Bill and Emily Harris were captured on the same day in front of their hideout at 288 Precita Avenue across the street from St. Anthony School. They had been under surveillance for a couple of weeks -- doing laundry, buying groceries, and jogging.

Was there a post office on Bernal Hill?
No, but there was a woman who "decorated" her property with mailboxes. (More details to come.)
